Big Breakfast Food Fair for 200!

It didn't get any hotter than the pool-side event at Cypress Lakes Resort in December. Cheeky Food Group helped JD Edwards bring their 2003 motto to life - "Recipe for Success". 200 'wannabe' chefs made scrambled egg burritos with chorizo, dipped French toast into Amaretto and even gave their work mates mini-massages and soothed their eyes with cucumber slices!

Each person became a 'key ingredient to the success' of the breakfast, and the year to come, as they worked, laughed and cooked together. The 'fair' was a big hit with time management skills, originality and creative flair ruling the day... even at 7.30am! With Leona as MC, and Victor and Wanitha managing our team of ten enthusiastic chefs, it was a huge success.

As Susie Macmillan, Marketing Director explained, "Cheeky Food Group delivered a really professional and engaging session which supported our team building objectives. I'd highly recommend them if you're looking for something different!"

A Team Building Christmas Event

The brief was to "have fun". Our kind of brief! Liz Mellick, of Carroll Australasia, didn't want just another dinner or Fri night drinks. Instead she wanted to reward her team by getting them to reward each other... by cooking a magnificent feast together. Victor and Leona welcomed the team with banana daquiris at one of our favourite Tuscan-style venues in Paddington.

We then cranked up the music and tempted ten 'non-cooks' into preparing succulent Prawns with Tomato, Ouzo and Feta, Greek Lamb and Key Lime Tarts. They then enjoyed their feast in the courtyard under the stars. It was wonderful to watch this previously-hesitant group be proud of their 5-star creation. Friday night drinks will never be the same!

As Liz says: "It was a wonderful success. The room was full of smiling, happy faces and everyone (even those who thought they couldn't boil water) worked together under the watchful eyes of Victor and Leona. It suited everyone, regardless of their position - and it was so easy to organise - all we had to do was arrive. We'd love to repeat the experience."

Worldwide Training
& Cooking for Cochlear

Now this was fun! Fifteen sophisticated professionals from all over the world came together in Sydney for some training - then a surprise cook-up. The session focused on inspiring them to "Live and Learn", the theme for their training. In a relaxed atmosphere, the menu started with the pounding of spices in a mortar.

Participants laughed as they drummed up an interesting beat to grind the spices for the samosas. Sounds of "yummmm" followed as the light and delicious samosas were gently fried and eaten a-la-casual. They finished with a magnificent sit-down Asian Feast created together and the sounds of "Cheers" in 7 different nationalities. Quite a night!

As three staff quoted: "The best activity I've done at Cochlear". "It was so nice that everyone worked together for the same goal without being in competition" and "Fantastic!".

Optus Sales Kick-Off

A newly-formed Optus sales team headed to Rafferty's Resort... not knowing they'd also be cooking with Cheeky Food Group. 40 people were greeted by hula dancers and given leis to wear as they created their entrees together - Quesadillas and an exquisite Asian fruit and vegetable salad.

But even when we'd finished the interactive session, many stayed on to help us cook the bbq banquet... we'd turn our backs for one second to find one of the guys flipping the swordfish! Guess they'd fully embraced the spirit of 'cheeky'!

Organised by Showcase Events, Deborah Shorten reported it was "A fun, interactive way to introduce a new team to each other. Definitely broke the ice and the evening was a fantastic success. Gorgeous food, great chefs, entertaining and a very novel concept."
